Reeltime Ratings is a video rating tool created to give you the power to make your voice heard beyond the conventional single-value rating. It provides the ability to view and rate films in real time, giving you the power to rate any given point within a film as you watch it. In addition, after having rated a film you may add descriptive tags as well as comparing both these and your ratings with friends and strangers alike.

The Reeltime Ratings interface has been designed to be as as simple and intuitive to use as possible. First, make sure you've signed in to the site with your Hot Pink Shorts account. Once you're logged in, simply navigate to any video and begin viewing it. On the right hand side of the screen will appear two buttons that may be clicked at any point to rate the film either up or down.

Really enjoy a particular spot in the video? Then click more than once! Multiple clicks will serve to elevate the rating of a scene you really love higher than that of a scene you merely like. Over time, your rating will gravitate to a neutral position, awaiting your input when that next great/terrible scene hits the screen.

Once you've finished rating a video, an option box will appear allowing you to give an overall 'Like' or 'Dislike' rating to the film. Whether you complete this option or not, you will be directed to a graph illustrating, over time, how you rated the film.

In the right hand menu you'll see a list of clickable names. These are site members you're currently 'Following' and who have also rated the same film. Simply click a name to see what they thought of the film you just saw.

In your ratings you'll see colored circles dotting the line that represent each time you rated the film up or down. Any of these points can be clicked to add a descriptive tag to let others know why you loved or hated that particular scene. Once a tag has been added, that circle will appear with a white outline, letting others know a tag has been associated with it.

You can watch the same video as many times as you like, though may only rate a film once. After rating a video, you can always return to your graph and tags by navigating to the video and skipping to the end. Your ratings graph and associated tags will be ready for viewing and comparison.

Want a more in-depth look of which scenes garnered the best (or worst) ratings? Once you've rated a film simply drag the video player cursor to any point in the film. A blue line will appear indicating what parts of a film correspond with which ratings while releasing the cursor will play the video normally with your ratings overlaid on top.
