Hot Pink Shorts

In one word: You. Hot Pink Shorts is all about giving LGBT filmmakers, experienced or otherwise, a chance to get their work out there. Upload your short films, vote for your favourites, and interact with a community as passionate as you are.

OUTtv, along with a cadre of industry leaders, will make the final decision on who will ultimately be nominated. These nominees will be selected on the basis of content, quality and community votes. Once the nominees have been chosen, you’ll have the chance to vote on your favourites and elevate them to the winners circle!

Every time you’re active on the network, whether through uploading, commenting or even logging in, you earn points. These points can be used to vote for your favourite films, allowing you to allocate as much or as little support as you’d like. Once the Film Festival is complete, those short films with the greatest number of points will be declared the winners.

Everyone! We may be based in Canada, but this is a global film festival. As long as you’re 19 years of age or older you’re eligible to win.

Well, your name in bright shiny lights, for one. The winning film will be featured on both the OUTtv network as well as the iPhone app!

Additionally, as the winner you'll receive a one-on-one session with the Hot Pink Shorts filmmaking mentor of your choice. And after you've mastered your skills, you'll get the opportunity to pitch a feature film idea to the producers at OUTtv! No big deal or anything.
