Keep Submitting Your Pitches for the Contest: Round 2!
For this season of Hot Pink Shorts, we at OUTtv decided to hold a contest: a contest all about YOU.
If you’re an aspiring filmmaker, tell us a story. Make us laugh! Make us cry! But make it good, because viewers just like you will be helping to choose the winners.
All you need to do is join the site and pitch us your idea with a short video. That’s it! The first phase of competition is over, though the second round of the contest, starting now, will see four more lucky winners chosen!
There are absolutely no prerequisites. Whether you’re an experienced short filmmaker with a half dozen movies under your belt or a complete film virgin, we don’t care! Just grab your cell phone, your webcam, or any other video recording device and pitch us your film. But remember, make it interesting and entertaining or you might find votes few and far between.
- Queer themed short films and pitches.
- Individuals who can make themselves available in Vancouver for the creation of their film.
- People interested in submitting or creating an original work only.
- Individuals entering the contest MUST be 19 years of age or older.
- A pitch that fits the $2500 budget.
- No pornography in the pitches or films. That can stay on your hard drive.
- Don’t be a hater. Address the issues, don’t provoke them.
- Type-written pitches. We want to SEE you tell us why your story is the story.
- Long, epic movies. Plan for your short film to be three to six minutes long.
- Entries from employees, family or associates of Contest Sponsors.
By now you’re probably asking yourself, “Hey, what do I get out of this?” Good question! First, we’re going to make your pitch a reality, literally. We’ll bring the cash to your idea and fully finance the making of your short film, up to $2500.
But we’re just getting started. Not only are we going to give you the funding for your story, we’re going to guide you through the entire filmmaking process, hooking you up with industry mentors to help you every step of the way. Finally, you’ll be featured in an actual episode of Hot Pink Shorts that will document your journey from pitch to final product.
